Powered by Vox’s Nutube technology, the MV50 Brian May channels his legendary AC30 tone with the addition of a KAT (Knight Audio Technologies) treble booster. The KAT can be toggled on or off, allowing you to achieve Brian May’s instantly recognisable tone.
The refined MV50 control panel features gain, tone and volume controls along with an EQ switch that can be toggled from flat (perfect for larger cabs) to deep (enhancing the lower frequencies – ideal for getting a deeper tone from a smaller cab).
Despite its small size, the MV50 Brian May packs a huge punch with a massive 50w output at 4 ohms making it perfect for stage, studio and rehearsal duties. Home practice is also well taken care of with cabinet simulation in the headphone/line out jack. Additionally, the cabinet simulation feature in the headphone/line out jack means that the MV50 Brian May can be recorded directly, without needing to mic up a cab.
With a head weighing just 540g (19oz) , and cab weighing 3.9kg (8.6lbs) this is one of the lightest tube setups available to guitarists, and certainly a lot lighter than Brian’s on-stage trio of AC30s! Now you can truly take Brian’s iconic tone with you wherever you go.
