Fender created quite a stir back in the 1960’s with their line of colourful acoustic guitars that featured exotic timbers and the iconic Stratocaster headstock. Fast forward and Fender have done it again, only this time with more than 60 years of guitar building experience, modern construction techniques, state-of-the-art electronics and more!
The Fender Newporter Player acoustic electric guitar features a solid Sitka Spruce top with Fender’s proprietary top bracing and Mahogany back and sides that combine to deliver a rich, focused and balanced tone across the high, mid and low ranges with outstanding acoustic projection.
The visual aesthetic is stunning with a painted Candy Apple Red gloss finish, a matching 6-in-line Stratocaster headstock and a vintage styled 3-ply gold pickguard. The Newporter Player also features a Graph Tech NuBone nut and saddle to enhance the sustain.
The slim C-profile mahogany neck and walnut fingerboard are comfortable and playable — a firm favourite neck profile here at southcoastmusic. The cutaway body style makes for easy access to the upper reaches of the neck.
A Fishman preamp system faithfully translates the acoustic tones when amplified. Plugged in onstage or in the studio, the Newporter Player delivers the guitar’s expressive natural voice through an amp, PA system or straight into the mixer. A built-in chromatic tuner helps to ensure that you always sound your best.
Pro-SCM Professional Setup
While the quality of this instrument shines through in spades, we like to think of our inhouse Pro-SCM setup as icing on the cake. Our skilled Guitar Technicians will check and adjust anything that requires attention.
Our Pro-SCM setup includes:
• Check that the action meets factory specifications
• Check and rectify any buzzing, intonation or playability issues
• Check and adjust the nut and bridge string heights
• Hand roll the fret ends and polish the frets, oil the fretboard
• Test electronics, pots and switches for correct function
• Inspect instrument construction and condition of the strings
• Ensure mechanical devices work properly including the tuners
• Tune to pitch
