One of the main concerns that piano players have when purchasing a digital piano is the feel of the keyboard when they play. Some of the issues that players are specifically concerned about include:

The newly developed Graded Hammer Compact (GHC) 88-note keyboard is built to uncompromising standards and offers the same weighted acoustic piano-like playing feel as the GHS (Graded Hammer Standard) keys used in previous models of the P Series.

Adjustable Touch Sensitivity - Regulation with the press of a button!

Pianists will appreciate a regulated piano action. Whether experienced or a beginner, it means a piano that feels, performs and responds to their playing style.

Regulating a piano can result in a touch that is soft, with little effort required to make a sound or, hard with a broad dynamic range. The volume level changes very widely from pianissimo to fortissimo, facilitating greater dynamics and dramatic expression.

Regulating an acoustic piano is time consuming and, can be expensive.

You can change the touch sensitivity of the P-145BT easily from the front panel or with a Smart device by using the Smart Pianist app.

Touch Sensitivity Settings:1) Soft: The volume level does not change much when you play the keyboard soft or hard.2) Medium: This is the standard piano touch response (default setting).3) Hard: The volume level changes very widely from pianissimo to fortissimo to facilitate dynamic and dramatic

expression. You have to hit the keys hard to produce a loud sound.

4) Fixed: The volume level does not change at all regardless of whether you play the keyboard soft or hard. This is set for the pipe organ and harpsichord voices.Offering the sound of a full grand piano

This model features the sound of a Yamaha full concert grand, the CFIIIS: the origin of Yamaha’s premier concert grand pianos, the CFX.

The sound was sampled from a piano with a bright, transparent tone with a spacious treble and an overall solid sonic feel.

In addition, the P-145BT features a damper resonance function that reproduces the rich resonance sound you hear when pressing the damper pedal, for an even fuller sound. The P-145BT comes supplied with a damper/sustain pedal/footswitch.
