The Variax Shuriken series came about as the result of intense collaboration between Line 6, Yamaha Guitar Development and guitarist Steve “Stevic” MacKay of Australian Band, Twelve Foot Ninja. Designed for unrivalled versatility and more technical styles of music, Variax Shuriken delivers exceptional playability, clear and tight tone—plus the unrivaled versatility that Variax HD modeling provides.
Variax Shuriken Premium Colours began as a collection of concept finishes displayed at trade shows as alternatives to the standard Satin Black finish, designed to broaden the instrument’s appeal to a wider range of players. As a result of the enthusiastic response to those finishes, Line 6 built a small number of Shuriken Variax guitars in Premium Colours. This is the Antique Ash model.

Variax HD technology makes it possible to instantly access the sounds of dozens of legendary electric guitars, acoustic guitars, and other fretted instruments with the twist of a knob—and switching between alternate tunings is just as easy. You can also design custom instruments and tunings, then load them into your guitar as presets using the free Workbench HD application.

This Shuriken guitar was built in very small numbers and is in every sense a limited edition model. We believe that this is the only brand new example available in the world.
