Ibanez's guiding philosophy for their acoustic guitars is, "a modern approach to acoustic guitar tradition." This philosophy naturally extends quite to their acoustic bass collection. This AEB105E doesn't disappoint either with tone, style and playability at incredible value. Ibanez acoustic basses are creatively inspiring instruments designed to thrive in wide variety of musical situations.
The Ibanez AEB105E is a versatile 5-string acoustic-electric bass guitar designed to provide a deep, naturally resonant low end with clarity and articulation - all the way down to a low B while the sculpted Venetian cutaway provides access to the upper register for melodic runs and expressive playing.
Designed and built in collaboration with Fishman, the renowned acoustic instrument pickup manufacturer, the AEQ-SP2 Preamp in tandem with a Fishman S-core undersaddle pickup delivers an organic tone that is full in the mids, smooth in the highs and punchy in the bottom end. Whether unplugged, in the studio or through a PA, shouldn't disappoint.

The Ibanez AEB105E's large Spruce topped Mahogany body delivers a classic, balanced tone with a deep resonance that helps the low B-string ring out clearly. The Maple neck provides stability and bright tonal character while the Purpleheart fretboard emphasises the beauty and the rich tonal character of this guitar.
The 32" scale length strikes a comfortable balance between a traditional long-scale (34") electric bass and a short-scale acoustic, making it easier to navigate while still producing a solid low B-string. The consensus among players on forums like TalkBass is that the AEB105E offers a warm, round and full tone across all strings, with surprisingly good volume from the low B. The large jumbo-style body is naturally loud unplugged and the Fishman electronics ensure it sounds great when plugged into an amplifier or PA system.

Pro-SCM setup . . . the next level
Ibanez builds great instruments.
The materials used and overall build quality often surpass what is expected at this price.
The truth is however, and the reviews will attest that they are not perfect.
As with almost every brand name bass or guitar - and we include the biggest brands in this - they are setup to a tolerance deemed acceptable by the manufacturer. Newbies almost always don't know the difference and experienced players should know better.
The truth is that most guitar manufacturers can't afford to invest much effort into the final setup process. A professional setup involves precision - precision requires time and, time is money. Manufacturers are focused on providing instruments at prices that the market will bear. Add in the fact that every player's requirements are unique and you have something that is simply impossible to provide at the factory level.
When you buy a guitar from southcoastmusic that has undergone our Pro-SCM setup, you buy confidently knowing that an experienced technician has not only "checked" your guitar, it has been adjusted and set it up to play at its best. Frets dressed and crowned if required, fret ends hand rolled for a supremely comfortable played-in feel, the nut deburred and string slots adjusted, saddle, intonation, pickup seating - whatever we feel is needed to provide a playing experience second to none. You can expect to pay at least $250 for this as a paid job - its included in our price.
Ultimately, its your call. You might be able to buy cheaper however, we sincerely believe that you won't buy better. Our loyal, return customers agree. Check our Google reviews!
