Founded in Germany in 1857, Hohner is the world’s largest and most celebrated manufacturer of harmonicas.

The harmonica – also known as the “mouth organ” is not surprisingly, the world’s most popular musical instrument. Most models are small enough to fit into a shirt pocket – a Hohner harmonica even made it into outer space – and back!

Originally released in 1909, the Harponette was originally released in 1909. A hundred years later, Hohner’s master instrument makers have recreated this wonderful instrument – in the same factory as the original in Trossingen, Germany.

Part of Hohner’s Historic Collection, the reissue Harponette was only made for a short time and once sold out, cannot be replaced.

The Harponette is a particularly beautiful model with the lines of its elegant case reminiscent of a grand piano. The CNC-milled casing has been crafted from solid German Spruce into which a high quality Richter harmonica has been placed.

The enhanced resonance from the Maple case is uniquely warm and full, especially from a single reed harmonica.

The solid Spruce case features a Bordeaux-red finish, lacquered to a high-gloss lustre.

The Harponette comes in a luxurious embossed, felt-lined case with a magnetic clasp closure – a superb addition to the Historic Collection.

ABOUT THE HARMONICA

The Harmonica is manufactured entirely in Trossingen, home of the original Hohner factory and the German Harmonica Museum. A Diatonic, Richter-type harmonica in the key of C Major it features 20 reeds and Brass Reed Plates.

The 10 hole comb is made of Doussié (a species of Afzelia), an African hardwood selected for its moisture absorption ability due to being in constant contact with a player’s mouth and tongue.

The embossed cover plates are made from highly polished Stainless Steel.

The Hohner Historic Collection Harponette is both a sight to behold and a delight to play.
