As part of their Professional Collection, Gretsch have created this exciting and innovative take on the iconic Falcon design with the G6139 Falcon Center-Block Single Cut-Away near the top guitar. Featuring a beautiful 1 ¾”-deep single-cutaway three-ply maple body with a 16”-lower bout, arched top and back, multi-ply sparkle appointments and oversized f holes, the G6139 Falcon Center-Block Single Cut-Away guitar is an incredible combination of classic style and modern playability.
The Gretsch Falcon is right up there near the top of guitarist’s wish list. Problem is, if you’re a high gain player, a Gretsch can be prone to “taking off” . . . that is, until now!
The centerpiece of the G6139 Falcon Center-Block Single Cut-Away guitar is a long spruce center block. The center block runs the entire length of the body and imparts several sonic advantages:
o First, it minimises body-resonant feedback and allows a more “high gain-friendly” performance
o Second, it’s made of spruce, which produces a spirited, lively tone
o Third, the center block itself is chambered at the lower bout to minimise weight
o Fourth, it has a pinned bridge
o The pinned wood bridge base extends over the sides of the center block about 5/8” on either side
o String-vibration energy is transferred to the two f-hole-vented body chambers to produce a rich and full-bodied tone.
Other premium features include a three-piece maple neck, 12”-radius ebony fingerboard with 22 medium jumbo frets, pearloid Neo-Classic™ “thumbnail” inlays and multi-ply sparkle appointments including a Gretsch “winged/vertical” sparkle logo.
The dual High Sensitive Filter’Tron™ pickups are the icing on what is a very sweet cake. This is the Gretsch that many could have only previously dreamed of. Sweet highs and a punchy low end with a mid-range that is for the first time – under high gain situations – controllable. The result is a classic visual statement and a tonal stamp that is every bit as individual as you are.
Other classic Gretsch appointments on the G6139 Falcon Center-Block Single Cut-Away guitar include jeweled-arrow knobs and gold hardware, an Adjusto-Matic™ bridge with pinned ebony base and Cadillac® “G” tailpiece, Grover® Imperial™ tuners and Schaller® strap locks.
This is the Black Gloss version … 110% pure class and completed with Silver Sparkle appointments. A Deluxe Gretsch Hard-Shell case is included.
