Danelectro 56 Bari Bottle Baritone Electric Guitar Black Finish Limited Edition

Danelectro were responsible for a swag of guitar innovations in the 1950s and the electric baritone is one of their most enduring. Now, more than fifty years later, the iconic Danelectro 56 Baritone remains one of the most desirable – and elusive electric baritone guitars on the market.

The Danelectro 56 Baritone is a great guitar with a unique tone and a vibe of its own.

The semi-hollow body is pure Danelectro and adds to its resonant tone while its light weight makes it a delight to play for extended periods.

A standout on this Danelectro 56 Baritone are the updated high impedance, high output Lipsticks that produce rich, round bass tones quite unlike anything else in its class. Controls are a simple master volume, tone and 3-way pickup selector switch.

Tuned down a 4th (B to B) from standard guitar tuning, the 24 fret Rosewood fretboard and 29.75″ scale length Maple neck is both tactile and comfortable.

Other Danelectro accents include a stylised pickguard, “Bottle” head stock design and adjustable bridge.

The baritone-tuned guitar was uncommon until the Danelectro Company introduced the electric baritone guitar in 1956. The electric baritone found some popularity in surf music and film scores, particularly “spaghetti Westerns.”
Often used in country music, “Tic-tac bass” is a method of playing where a muted baritone guitar doubles the part played by the bass guitar or double bass.
