NuTube Technology
In a nutshell, NuTube simply means great tone! However, if you would like to know more – read on . . . traditional vacuum tube technology has essentially remained unchanged for more than fifty years. They are fragile, variable in quality, have significant characteristic variations and consume a lot of power. KORG INC. and Noritake Itron Corporation applied the most advanced technologies and manufacturing techniques available and developed ‘NuTube’.
By applying and modifying the technology learned from vacuum fluorescent displays, NuTube was born. NuTube represents a significant advance in Tube technology and just like a conventional vacuum tubes, the NuTube utilises an anode, grid and filament – operating as a complete triode tube. Most importantly, NuTube generates the response and same rich harmonic characteristics of conventional vacuum tubes without the heat and high power consumption.
Versatile
As mentioned, the VOX Ukulele 50 also works like a compact PA system. There are two individual channels – channel one with an unbalanced 6.35mm phone input. This channel also includes a Phase reversal switch – a great tool for taming feedback. Tone enhancement tools include a 3-band equaliser as well as chorus and reverb effects.
Channel two features a balanced XLR MIC input connector with switchable phantom power along with 2-band EQ and Digital Reverb.
Perfect for onstage and live performance, the VOX Ukulele 50 can also be connected straight into a larger PA system via a 6.35mm / 1/4″ phono Line Output. Additionally, there is an AUX input to connect your smart phone or music player (with an appropriate cable )as well as a headphone output jack making the VOX Ukulele 50 a perfect choice for practicing or recording at home.
