Yamaha are incredibly modest when it comes to talking about their musical instruments and there is much to be proud about with this superb guitar. With its thinline cutaway body style, the Yamaha APX1000 acoustic-electric guitar offers a comfortable and lightweight experience for all players. Featuring Yamaha’s renowned APX slimline cutaway body, it has been designed to sit up close to your body, making it is easy and comfortable to play. Lighter in weight than a dreadnought or 808 style acoustic, the APX1000 is a delight for playing in the studio, on stage, jamming with friends or kicking back at home. Yamaha rewrote the book on what can be expected from a guitar of this size and the APX1000 produces a full, rich tone despite the slimmer body. The hand crafted APX1000 features a solid Sitka Spruce top along with flame Maple back and sides. This highly prized combination is the bedrock of some of the world’s finest acoustic guitars and with good reason, setting a broad sonic foundation for any playing style. As they settle in with time and playing, these tonewoods will develop even more harmonic richness. The acoustic tones of this beauty are projected through the innovative APX soundhole. These acoustically balanced tones focuses low-mid energy for powerful fundamentals and sonic punch along with sweet highs. A bespoke rubber feedback buster is included but thanks to Yamaha’s SRT electronics, we have yet to use it. Between its flame Maple back and sides, solid spruce top, and innovative APX soundhole shape, the APX1000 sings with a powerful low-mid response and wide sonic range. When you’re ready to plug in and play, you’ll be rewarded with studio-quality sound thanks to its built-in Studio Response Technology (SRT) pickup and preamp. From practice at home to plugged-in performances, your expectations should be exceeded with the Yamaha APX1000 acoustic-electric guitar. The World’s Best Acoustic Guitar Pickup / Preamp System This is APX1000’s silver bullet – Yamaha’s SRT system, which brings the wonderful acoustic tones of this fine guitar to the stage. The SRT system models these microphones and the ambience of a professional studio environment, resulting in superbly vivid and natural acoustic tone. The low-profile controls include Master Volume, Treble, Bass/Acoustic Feedback Reduction and Mic Blend/Mic Selection. Yamaha’s proprietary SRT pickup design uses individual elements for each string to give an ultra-clear, ultra-wide bandwidth signal with far better dynamic response and tonal accuracy than a regular, ribbon-type piezo pickup. Using the blend control, you can balance the output from the under-bridge piezo elements with the modeling of three highly coveted condenser microphones: ⦁ Neumann KM 56 small-diaphragm condenser ⦁ Neumann U 67 large-diaphragm condenser ⦁ Royer R-122 active ribbon microphone The fact that buying these microphones (if you could find examples of the actual vintage mics used) would add up to tens of thousands of dollars is not lost on us either. The control offered by the SRT system is remarkable allowing to you be able to select between (virtual) close or distant mic placement with the focus/wide button and then dial in just the right amount of body resonance. The studio-quality, natural tone and clarity provided by the SRT system elevates your amplified guitar tone straight to the top of the class. Pro-SCM setup for optimum comfort and playability This is a fine guitar still, our regular customers are fussy and our Pro-SCM setup ensures optimum playability. Vintage Yamaha AES1200 Hollow Body Archtop Electric Guitar Made in Japan 1986 • Hand Crafted in Japan • Solid carved Spruce top • Ebony Fingerboard • Pearloid Inlays • Gold Plated Hardware • Yamaha Humbucking pickups with Coil Tapping Function • New Volume and Tone Pots • New Pickup Selector Switch • Ebony Bridge • Original Yamaha Tuners • Original Yamaha AE1200S Hard Shell Case • Pro-SCM setup with 11 gauge flat wound strings • Original purchase receipt included This Yamaha AE1200S Hollow Body Archtop Guitar was purchased new in 1986 from Pro Audio Supplies in Canberra. Due to an ongoing health issue, the original owner – now in his late 70’s has engaged us to sell this beautiful guitar on his behalf. The original purchase receipts are also included. The lacquer is in excellent condition with barely a scratch and it’s hard to believe that this guitar is more than 34 years old. The hardware is the only clue to the age of this guitar with some tarnishing evident on the tailpiece. The original pickups were heavily tarnished and we have replaced them with new SA2200 units sourced from Yamaha Music Australia. The original pickups are also included. The pots and three-way pickup selector switch have also been replaced as has the pickguard mounting bracket. From the overall condition of this instrument, it would appear that the tarnishing has occurred as a result of the owner’s skin reacting with the metal which is not uncommon. The guitar has also undergone a full Pro-SCM setup including dressing, crowning and polishing the frets. The fret ends have also been hand rolled and the slim neck feels absolutely superb. The action is low and the tone is sweet. In my role as National Sales Manager for Yamaha Music Australia I had the good fortune to get to know the late Jazz Guitar legend, Ike Isaacs. I recall in one of our many discussions, Ike lamented leaving his Yamaha AE1200S in the UK when he moved to Australia. Ike played an ES-175 when I met him and he told me that if I could find another AE1200S, he would gladly swap his ES for it. Not that there was anything wrong with his Gibson but he said that the Yamaha was a more versatile guitar – and he loved the neck. By the time I met Ike, the AE1200S had been discontinued by Yamaha and there were none to be had – new or secondhand. This is a unique opportunity to buy a fabulous hollow body jazz box. You will need to call ahead to make an appointment to view this instrument. • Country of Origin: Japan • Year of Manufacture: 1986 • Serial Number: TBA • Model: AE1200S • Body Style: Full Hollow Body Archtop • Top Material: Solid Spruce • Body Material: Beech & Birch • Binding: Multi-ply Binding on Body, Neck, Headstock Pick Guard. YAMAHA LS-TA TransAcoustic Guitar Concert Size Brown Sunburst finish Play, listen . . . be inspired . . . the most exciting acoustic guitar innovation of the new millenium! o Solid Englemann Spruce Top o Acoustic Resonance Enhancement (ARE) Treated Top o System 70 TransAcoustic Preamp o 20 Fret Premium Ebony Fingerboard o Pro-SCM professional setup included Playing guitar in a great sounding room is the most inspiring, engaging playing experience imaginable – far more enjoyable than in a dry-sounding room like a lounge, office or den. Yamaha’s TransAcoustic Guitar recreates the incredible experience of playing in a rich, live room without needing any external amplification or effects – just the guitar itself. Whether you’re practicing, writing, recording or just playing for fun, the TransAcoustic Guitar will make you want to play better, longer and with more creativity. Once you’ve experienced it, you’ll never want to play another acoustic guitar again. o Amazing sounding reverb/chorus built-into the guitar with no need for external amplification or effects o Designed to provide superb acoustic guitar sound o Highly comfortable playability o Made in Yamaha quality o Five Year Warranty YAMAHA TransAcoustic – HOW DOES IT WORK? THE ACTUATOR . . . An actuator installed on the inner surface of the guitar back vibrates in response to the vibrations of the strings. The vibrations of the actuator are then conveyed to the body of the guitar and to the air in and around the guitar body, generating authentic reverb and chorus sounds from inside the body. YAMAHA TransAcoustic – Simple Controls Three simple knobs let you adjust the degree of effect applied and the lineout volume level. Additionally, keeping the controls small minimises the area of the holes in the body material, reducing acoustic sound loss. The simple controls are: (A) Chorus Control (B) Reverb Control (Room / Hall) (C) TA (ON/OFF) Switch / Line Out Volume Control * Pressing the TA Switch for more than 0.3 seconds activates the TA function. * When a cable is connected to the line-out jack, the lineout volume can be adjusted by rotating the (C) knob. * The reverb type switches from Room to Hall around the 12:00 position. YAMAHA TransAcoustic SUPERB ACOUSTIC GUITAR SOUND – ANYTIME – ANYWHERE At the heart of the Yamaha LS-TA is a superb hand made, all-solid Acoustic Guitar. The Yamaha LS-TA features a solid Engelmann Spruce top that in tandem with the modified non-scalloped bracing design retains the L series’ characteristic shimmering highs, punchy low end and broad dynamic range. Englemann Spruce is a wonderful tonewood, producing tones that are powerful and direct, retaining clarity and articulation, even when driven hard. Further enhancement of the tonal characteristics of this beautiful guitar has been achieved through the use of Yamaha’s A.R.E. (Acoustic Resonance Enhancement), has treated the guitars top with their own original wood reforming technology. Known as acoustic resonance enhancement, and developed by Yamaha, this treatment ages the wood through cooking it and provides the wood with a rich, vintage tone. The LS-TA’s back and side panels are constructed from Rosewood for an incredibly smooth, warm tone with complex harmonic overtones. The Rosewood offers a very versatile tone whilst keeping it balanced, providing a strong clear presence. The back and sides also provide dark and complex characteristics, enhancing the guitars top and bottom ends. YAMAHA TransAcoustic A.R.E. TECHNOLOGY Yamaha’s exclusive A.R.E. process provides the instrument with an incredible tone – rich, focused and with a vintage quality. Yamaha’s A.R.E. process makes this guitar sound like it has been played for years . . . from the very first moment you pick it up. The sound of this guitar is simply superb, with a tonal quality that is pure and natural. YAMAHA TransAcoustic ROSEWOOD/MAHOGANY LAMINATED NECK AND EBONY FINGERBOARD The guitar’s neck is made from a 5-ply Mahogany/Rosewood combination and delivers a warm, mellow tone with complex highs, creamily thick lows, and good presence in the mids. The guitar’s Ebony fingerboard also offers a bright, warm tone with a responsive snappy and crisp attack coupled with a smooth sustain. YAMAHA TransAcoustic System70 PREAMP AND SRT PIEZO PICKUP Yamaha’s System 70 Transacoustic preamp not only provides the ability to plug the guitar into an amplifier, but can also amplify the guitar itself. With an actuator installed on the inside of the back panel, the Piezo pickup transmits the vibrations from the strings to the actuator and then to the body of the guitar and the surrounding air. This generates an authentic reverb and chorus sound inside the guitar, amplifying it’s sound. The preamp comes with three controls that are designed into the body to minimise the amount of holes in the guitars body, reducing the loss of the acoustic sound. A chorus knob and reverb knob provides adjustments to the amount of chorus or reverb the actuator produces, with the reverb knob offering a choice between room and hall. The third switch turns the actuator on or off, and if the guitar is plugged into an amp, then it controls the line out’s volume. YAMAHA TransAcoustic NEWLY DESIGNED EASY ACCESS BATTERY COMPARTMENT With the TransAcousic series, Yamaha have integrated the battery box into the assembly that incorporates the end-pin jack. Connect the cable from the output jack to a PA or amp to use as an acoustic electric guitar.
