Michel Chavarria began building guitars in the South of France back in 1981 and his company Lâg has become one of France’s highest-profile guitar manufacturers. Offering a superb range of Acoustic guitars, Lâg epitomises the French approach with innovative features and some very distinctive and tasteful styling. With a growing legion of fans and under pressure to offer a more affordable range, Lag found the answer in China – and they haven’t looked back! Their beautifully designed and exquisitely crafted instruments are more affordable than ever and most people would agree that they are a bargain! This is the Lag T66D12CE Tramontane (Tramontane is a wind that blows across southern France) a gorgeous Dreadnought sized guitar with a distinctive appearance, thanks to the headstock design borrowed from Lag’s Imperator solidbody electrics, where the central portion of the peghead is raised from the outer wings. It looks classy and adds strength to the headstock. The front, back and sides feature softly radiused wide black-plastic binding with ivory-coloured purfling and coachlining, lending a smooth, flowing air and touch to the body profile. The soundhole rosette is inlaid with similar plastics and the stylish teardrop Lag cross-motif hallmark. The body features an immaculately buffed high-gloss finish while the back of the neck has a slinky smooth satin finish. The fully compensated saddle itself is black graphite – as is the nut – a material very unusual to find on a budget acoustic. Acoustically, the volume, projection and depth of tone are superb with responsive dynamics. This guitar shouldn’t disappoint. For recording or on-stage duties, the Tramontane T66D12CE features an excellent pickup/preamp system built by Shadow in Germany. On board are a Nanoflex under bridge saddle Piezo Pickup controlled by the intuitive and easy to use DirectLâg Preamp. The build quality and detailing are excellent – it looks expensively stylish and sounds the part – all at a very keen price. Oh yes, did we mention that it’s all backed up with a Five Year warranty as well! LAG Tramontane T66D-12CE Twelve String Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar with Pickup and Cutaway

His unique designs gained great popularity throughout Europe and exposure by the likes of the Scorpions and Motorhead provided added immeasurable prestige to the brand. Over the years Michel Lâg-Chavarria’s unique designs and innovations became known for further enhancing the tone, structure and playability of his instruments. In recognition of Michel Lâg-Chavarria’s expertise and success as a “Boutique” builder, he was approached by French music giant Algam International (the largest distributor of Musical Instruments in France) who proposed building some of his designs in Asia. At first Michel rejected the offer but over time he realised that by producing some of his unique designs and innovations in Asia under strict quality control, Lag Guitars could be made available to all French guitarists, rather than just the elite or those with lots of money. An alliance between Michel and Algam International was struck resulting in a range of high quality Electrics built in Asia for the French market only. Introduced in 2004 with resounding success, it didn’t take long before the flood of enquiries from England, Germany and other parts of Europe forced the decision to expand distribution to include Britain Germany and Australia in 2005 -again to resounding success. Lag Guitars are now available in every major country around the World. southcoastmusic has been there right from the start and we are proud to offer these exceptional instruments to you. Everything about these guitars exudes quality, from the look, style, features and tone…there is nothing else like them at this price. Backed up by an Australia-wide Five Year Warranty, Lag guitars offer incredible value for money. This offer includes a fitted hardshell case!

Newly developed GHC (Graded Hammer Compact) keyboard offers a realistic playing feel One of the main concerns that piano players have when purchasing a digital piano is the feel of the keyboard when they play. Some of the issues that players are specifically concerned about include: • whether the keys feel like a weighted acoustic piano keyboard • whether the keyboard will respond accurately when they play quicker passages • whether there are any inconsistencies between how hard they play the keys and the sound that results • whether the keyboard offers a sufficient soft-to-loud dynamic range. Yamaha’s previous P Series digital pianos have received high praise from customers for the excellent balance and feel offered by the GHS keyboards. Compared to its predecessor, the all-new P-145BT features a much shorter and slimmer body design with a simple yet more modern , compact style – without compromising the playing experience. The newly developed Graded Hammer Compact (GHC) 88-note keyboard is built to the highest standards and offers the same weighted acoustic piano-like playing feel as the GHS (Graded Hammer Standard) keys used in previous models of the P Series. Adjustable Touch Sensitivity – Regulation with the press of a button! Pianists will appreciate a regulated piano action. Whether experienced or a beginner, it means a piano that feels, performs and responds to their playing style. Regulating a piano can result in a touch that is soft, with little effort required to make a sound or, hard with a broad dynamic range. The volume level changes very widely from pianissimo to fortissimo, facilitating greater dynamics and dramatic expression. Regulating an acoustic piano is time consuming and, can be expensive. You can change the touch sensitivity of the P-145BT easily from the front panel or with a Smart device by using the Smart Pianist app. Touch Sensitivity Settings: 1) Soft: The volume level does not change much when you play the keyboard soft or hard. 2) Medium: This is the standard piano touch response (default setting). 3) Hard: The volume level changes very widely from pianissimo to fortissimo to facilitate dynamic and dramatic expression. You have to hit the keys hard to produce a loud sound. 4) Fixed: The volume level does not change at all regardless of whether you play the keyboard soft or hard. This is set for the pipe organ and harpsichord voices. Offering the sound of a full grand piano This model features the sound of a Yamaha full concert grand, the CFIIIS: the origin of Yamaha’s premier concert grand pianos, the CFX. The sound was sampled from a piano with a bright, transparent tone with a spacious treble and an overall solid sonic feel. In addition, the P-145BT features a damper resonance function that reproduces the rich resonance sound you hear when pressing the damper pedal, for an even fuller sound. The P-145BT comes supplied with a damper/sustain pedal/footswitch. We hope that you will enjoy the profoundly deep character of this instrument’s sound, so characteristic of that of a real grand piano. It goes without saying that this instrument doesn’t require tuning.
Place the instrument wherever you like, or even take it with you One trouble that plagues pianists is that the acoustic piano is not an instrument you normally carry with you wherever you go. Another issue is that traditional pianos are often too large to fit into a room. The P-145BT provides a brilliant solution to these problems. With its stylish design, this compact model blends well with the decor of any room. With the optional soft case, you can take the P-145BT with you to the studio, to a party, to live gigs, or on a trip—whenever you need it. Access the features of this instrument with greater ease from the app By linking the P-145BT with Yamaha’s dedicated “Smart Pianist” digital piano app, you can intuitively perform all operations on the P-145BT from the screen of your smart device. There’s no longer any need to pull out the manual to see how things work. *When connecting a smart device to a musical instrument to use the app, you can either use a cable or connect wirelessly using the Yamaha UD-BT01 (sold separately; for iOS only). Minimalistic design featuring only carefully selected functionality The P-145BT is a design that perfectly embodies the expression, “less is more.” Most people who love playing the piano as their instrument don’t want a lot of rarely used features. The P-145BT offers a simple, modern form factor to meet the needs of such people.
Balanced, clear sound The position and angle of the speakers on the back of the P-145BT have been adjusted to replicate the sounds reflected from the soundboard and lid of an acoustic grand piano as closely as possible. These adjustments let you enjoy playing with sharp and clear mid- to high-range tones and a prominent low-end for a well-balanced sound, even when the P-145BT is set up against a wall. Practice with 303 free pieces of classical sheet music The Smart Pianist app mentioned above comes with PDF scores of 303 classical pieces for practice such as Bayer, Burgmüller, Czerny, Hanon and more, which you are free to display and use on the screen of your smart device.
