Yamaha are renowned for their superb musical instruments. Highly respected for their Guitars, Yamaha have been hand crafting them since the mid 1960s. Whether on stage or in the studio, chances are that a Yamaha will be there. Yamaha Acoustic guitars were even onstage at Woodstock in 1969 and they have continued to be the first onstage guitar for countless musicians the world over.

The Yamaha CS40 MKII is a great guitar. Hand crafted with younger guitarists in mind, the CS40 offers enhanced playing comfort thanks to its 7/8 scale and compact body design. Yamaha’s luthiers have designed the CS40 to ensure that young learners remained inspired and excited about the hours spent practicing.

Now in it’s second incarnation, the Yamaha CS40 MKII is the ideal beginner guitar for 8 to 12 year olds and at southcoastmusic is highly recommended.

The CS40 MKII has a shorter 22.8″ scale length and features a Spruce top with Meranti back and sides along with a Nato neck, a Rosewood fingerboard and bridge and a gloss finish. Designed to serve as an affordable, yet high-quality 7/8 size starter guitar, the CS40MKII is equally suited to adults of smaller stature or used as a travel guitar.

Pro-SCM Professional Setup

Almost all guitars require some work to ensure that they perform to their full potential. While the quality of the CS40 MKII shines through in spades, we like to think of our inhouse Pro-SCM setup as the icing on the cake. Our skilled Guitar Technicians will check and adjust anything that requires attention. Our Pro-SCM setup includes:

• Check and set the string height to its optimal level.
• Check and rectify any buzzing, intonation or playability issues
• Check and adjust the nut and bridge string heights
• Hand roll the fret ends and polish the frets, oil the fretboard
• Inspect instrument construction and condition of the strings
• Ensure mechanical devices work properly including the machine heads
• Tune to pitch

As a paid service, this work could cost as much as $200 – it is included in our price!
