The Crusader Chorus Pedal from Rotosound features Rate and Depth knobs, just like you’d find on just about any chorus pedal however, it also has a Level knob that allows you to mix the level of chorus effect proportionate to the dry sound from no effect at all up to a 50/50 mix.
With the LED flashing rhythmically to illustrate the setting of the rate knob, the Crusader delivers a superbly warm chorus sound reminiscent of the early BOSS/ROLAND effects with the added ability to take things further with a more comprehensive control over the speed of the “rate”. So much so that the last segment of travel on the knob delivers a useful simulation of a Leslie rotary speaker.
The full-on chorus that was all over many 80s recordings may not work for everyone however, with the mix knob blending in a small amount of effect, there’s plenty of shading of the ‘enhanced tonality’ type that could work in many musical genres. With rate and depth up full, you can even add in a little ring modulation flavour.
This handbuilt Rotosound pedal was built in incredibly small numbers making it a real collectors item. We have one only – brand new!
