Gibson rocked the guitar world with the unveiling of its thinline, semi-acoustic ES-335 in 1958. Dubbed “ES” for “Electric Spanish”, the guitar was an overnight success.
For many players though, the most iconic ES-335 appeared in 1963 when the model was first updated—and became a true rock, blues and jazz classic.
Just mention “Clapton-spec ES-335” to any Cream fan, or check out the guitars played by Alvin Lee, Larry Carlton, or a myriad other legendary artists and you’ll find an early to mid ’60s “block neck” ES-335 logging all those classic tones on stage and in the studio.
This 1963 ES-335TDC Bigsby Varitone pays homage to one of Gibson’s most popular models of the 1960’s with a modern twist. Featuring an authentic 1963 body shape with narrower horns and rolled binding on a dark rosewood fingerboard for a slick, soft-playing feel, this is an exceptional guitar.
This beautifully recreated ES-335TDC comes with a factory installed Bigsby B7, a MTC Premiere with new Mono Varitone control assembly paired with MHS PAF-style Humbucking Pickups.
