Essex have been hand crafting their SX Vintage Series guitars for years and at this price, we just don’t know how they do it.
The VES62 ’62 style Custom Handmade Electric Guitar features a genuine Basswood body and bolt on Maple neck with a 21 fret engineered Rosewood fretboard.
The double offset cutaway body is comfortable and it’s classic shape is instantly recognisable. The 21 Nickel Silver semi-jumbo Frets and the beautifully tinted neck adds to the vintage look.
The multi-ply pickguard looks the part and continues the vintage touch complimenting the luxurious gloss finish perfectly.
There’s a vintage style tremolo, 3 custom wound Single Coil pickups, 1 Volume and 2 Tone controls plus a 5 way Switch for maximum tonal versatility. There are even Kluson style geared machine heads to set off the vintage vibe.
The 3 custom wound Single Coil pickups will cover virtually any style, Jazz, Fusion, Blues, Rock and even some Metal tones. Classic glassy chime and warm tones are easy to dial in from the 1, 3, and 5 selector switch positions. Hard Rock and Heavy metal tones work best on pick-up selector switch positions 2 and 4 where the single coil pickups work in reverse phase mode effectively working like a humbucking pickup.
The neck has been hand sanded and finished, then spoke shaved to provide a beautiful early 1960’s neck profile that sits comfortably and effortlessly in your hands. The vintage tint lacquered finish ensures that the neck is protected.
Industry standard D’addario Nickel wound .009” to .042” strings are also standard issue with this guitar.
